Forced into the Senate by his overbearing mother, the Achilles-like Coriolanus
does nothing to hide his disdain for democracy. Eventually banished by his own
people, this God of War does the only thing he knows how to do: lead his own
enemy's army to kill the very people he serves. Shakespeare's tale of extreme
betrayal is also one of his bloodiest. It is a grand-scale story of militaristic
pride, maternal influence, and knowing who's got your back.

As Wilder sought to make Our Town into everytown, he did more than
strip away realistic sets and props. He made his setting a universal
anywhere where things don't get in the way of ideas, where essence
doesn't get lost in detail. A mix of human-sized joys (spring, sunsets,
chocolate sodas, a simple wedding) and personal tragedies (a ruptured
appendix, alcoholism, suicide, death in childbirth), this is a play of lyrical
beauty.
